look at that, another traffic light! this time green turns to yellow, and he just. floors it more. except the slow down seems much smoother the closer they get to red, only forcing a full and short stop when they’re there. music plays from the radio, he probably almost killed them, but hey. that was the witch’s fault.
even while they’re stopped at the red light, the car lurches forward again, its tires screeching as he plays with break and motor. maybe just to give him an extra spook.
but by the time elliot probably looks up to tell him eREN NO— eren’s smiling right at him, and he could say eren again. he totally did that last bit on purpose. ]
[this is it, this is how he dies. This was a terrible idea. Why did he think this was a good idea?? He has so many regrets, he's going to die so young.
When Eren now tries to run a red light (which elliot had said you STOP at those), he yells-]

[Except he sees how Eren is smiling at him. And the fact he could say the name. It sinks in. His memory must be back, that wasn't an expression he had before. And the last few moments had been smoother- he knew how to turn the radio on even though Elliot hadn't explained how.

[ oh boy they need to pull over, and just in time because that’s what eren was just about to do after this light! for what, you ask— well, maybe they’re both in sync enough to find out once eren stops the car by the sidewalk with blinking lights, getting held back when he wants to lean out of his seat a little too fast with a jerk from his seat belt, only to hastily try and clip it off, ack–!! ]
[Haha seatbelt failure will be your undoing! Elliot meanwhile has no issue with his seatbelt. The moment the car is pulled over, he's unbuckled and he's reaching over to tug Eren into a hug. There's no escape!!!!]
[ no!!! this is blasphemy!! he demands a redo!!! justice!!! justice against his cockblocking seatbelt!! squeezing into a hug they go as he’d unbuckled and free, adding to the embrace a tight lip-to-lip kiss. he never wants to forget you again. ]
