That's what she said too... [Okay, so maybe he won't have to murder his fiance today]

You'd want me to join?

Aw, Eren...

Alright, sure. I'd love to. But not violin. I don't think it'd match your band's style.

Our band.

Okay, I didn't say you couldn't use violin for heavy metal. It's cool to have in some songs, but it'd be a weird fit for every song.

Besides, I've been learning guitar the past year and...well, you have a bass and a drummer, but no regular guitarist. Now THAT'S much more crucial to a metal band than a violin.

[AND TO REALLY CONVINCE EREN:]

I'd even let you buy me one. I've been using school's.

Haha, not sure yet!

Let's go shopping for one together?

[personal profile] fiddlestick 2019-02-21 01:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Why am I not surprised you are already looking at the $1500 ones.

[He's just going to remind himself not to look at the price tag and focus on the sound of the guitar. ]

Yeah, I will. But I wanna challenge myself to master a new instrument, I don't want to play it safe and stick to violin and piano all the time. I can't advance as a musician if I do that.

Plus don't tell her I said this, but...with Anna still learning bass, I'd feel bad expecting her to keep up with my violin all the time. I have over a decade of practice on her, and that can be pretty discouraging for some newer players. So I'd rather play with her on more equal terms.

Is it? I didn't know that- oh man, there's so much rock and metal stuff I'm gonna have to learn about now.

[HE IS EXCITED BY THIS!!!! MUSIC KNOWLEDGE!!]

Haha, maybe. I'll try to come off as a cool senpai rather than a pushy know-it-all.
fiddlestick: (elliot112)

[personal profile] fiddlestick 2019-02-24 05:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, it's a Japanese term. It means someone that's your senior but not your boss? Like an upperclassmen in school, or a more experienced coworker. It came up while talking with Crow and Rean.

So you'd be my senpai with heavy metal!
fiddlestick: (youre dumb af)

[personal profile] fiddlestick 2019-02-24 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, like that. I heard you were watching that with Rean.

Hehe, yeah. But Crow and Rean started bickering about what they are, so we decided not to refer to any of us as senpai
. [Because they are children]

[personal profile] fiddlestick 2019-02-24 07:01 pm (UTC)(link)
I know, but it is when they got crushes on each other.

[Group chat is just watching those two pull each other's pigtails]

Heheh, so I've heard. I was actually waiting for you to show it to me. Maybe it could be a date night or two?

[personal profile] fiddlestick 2019-02-25 02:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Nothing I've heard about, so I don't think anything did.

[Because there's no way Crow wouldn't be messaging if they actually worked things out. What a let down]

Haha, oh I'm sure I won't be. I'm looking forward to it.
fiddlestick: (exposition ahoy!!)

[personal profile] fiddlestick 2019-02-26 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I know.

Apparently neither had many friends before the app. So I think they're scared of messing things up. And convincing them not to be afraid is easier said than done.
fiddlestick: (ohhh noooo)

[personal profile] fiddlestick 2019-02-27 02:45 pm (UTC)(link)
...Yeah. I know.

It's never good when I'm the one with a stronger sense of self-worth.

I'm just not sure what to do about it other than keep being positive at them.
fiddlestick: (uh oh)

[personal profile] fiddlestick 2019-02-28 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know. You often give really good advice...even if you're not the best at listening to your own advice.

Are you suggesting we help him find a major? Isn't that something deeply personal?
