Oh no...That's not good.
I was really hoping I was wrong about that.

But it does line up with what I've seen.
Every monster I've used my spell on has been corrupted by dark energy.
It's beautiful here, but there's something off about this forest.

Did it say how they got possessed?

He sounds sad, but really dangerous. Please be careful Eren.
I don't like the sound of this at all.

As for the forest...I'm not sure if it's that bad yet.
But there are some worrying signs.

Here, we compiled notes together last week. I'll send you them.

[He takes a moment to dig up Minato's notes that got transcribed, and sends them.]
Dryads: The dryads have lived in the forest for a long time (at least 50 years), and some even used to be human. According to the fairies that live in the forest, the dryads are generally friendly, but the fairies are a little jealous of them. Usually, one favor usually leads to another, and angering the dryads may be dangerous. They note that direct sunlight will damage them, preventing them from traveling all the time. They are intent on finding somebody they revere, called the "Huntsman," who has gone into hiding.

Forest: The forest itself has high magical energy that makes it bright and colorful, with ley lines running through the forest which enhance the magic. These ley lines started becoming poisoned and distorted around 50 years ago, leading to the trees and animals turning evil. In the forest, there are berries that increase one's strength and grants immunity to toxins, which Fawkes will be cultivating more of.

North: Going north, there is a grove of berries, flowers, and saplings where a small group of lost dryad children were found and returned to their parents after a giant turtle blocking the path was moved. The dryad children are new converts to Yatoism. Further along the main path north, it leads to a ring of glowing, iridescent trees, surrounded by giant mushrooms and calming flowers. Now that the bears have been moved, this looks like a good place for the dryads to make their home.

East: There are fire breathing lizards near the river, which wouldn't be safe for the dryads.

South: This path leads to a swamp inhabited by bugs, fish, and poisonous frogs that drain the life out of nearby trees. The mother has been dealt with, but frog eggs are noted to be able to be scrambled to make anti-venom and healing salves.

West: Paths here have been cleared of debris (felled trees, some boulders, a giant 10 foot tall ant hill that was washed away), along with a vine monster that had been corrupted by the sinister energy, revealing the cottages where humans used to live. These humans used to take care of the forest and the creatures in it, and seem to have arrived around 20 years ago judging by the items left abandoned inside the cottages. The humans disappeared suddenly without a trade, which the dryads are concerned about. Claw marks were found on some of the doors, and the wood of other buildings have been corroded. Some of the cottages have been destroyed by an ogre, which is currently tied up but is not dead.

About a day after those notes, we got woken up at about 6am to the sound of panpipes and barking.
The dryads were really excited about this huntsman coming back, and insisted we go on some hunt to meet him because apparently he'll have the answers we want.
So we followed these leyline paths through dangerous parts of the forest.

And now we're just...waiting for him.
He really takes his time.

Please do! I'd like to read it.

Hm, I don't think so? What about it?

[Wow]

Okay, first I have to admit I'm kinda impressed you were able to get something out of the Respatrum group that wasn't complaints about the heat.

Anyway, that sure sounds really worrying. And it proved these place are connected somehow. Though I'm not sure how much of that is true and how much is just huge storytelling.

[...]

Glad you told me this before I met with the huntsman. I think I'll be hiding my staff when I do...just in case.

[Let's not stir up staff-related trauma for these people]

Prompto... [You can almost feel the mild irritation in that text. Sure isn't that guy's biggest fan after the network stunt]

Right. That's the important part. If a single person is what's causing the corruption in all these places...that's really scary.

Oh, I'm passing the information along to my group. I hope you don't mind.

I'm glad you're working on it, but even so
I can still be a little unhappy with him.
It was my boyfriend he said those things about over the network.

[Oh no that's really cute. Elliot smiles at his screen when he sees it ]

Haha, I'm always in your corner.

Yeah, he IS pretty immature...

Oh. That was nothing really...

[He's probably blushing on his end, feeling a little flustered. Don't call him out on what he does!!]

Sounds like it got bad... [Like, fight bad. But he won't ask for details. Sounds like Eren's working it out on his own]
Maybe next time we should pack a handheld game to diffuse stress.

[Duke it out via smash bros than actual fists Eren]

[Oh boy...]

Um
Not really...sorry....
I don't have much experience getting into fights.

You will.
From the sound of it, you've already grown some since we left.
