what? why would you need to inherit a power you already have? are shifters unique or something?

they have different specialties
the armored titan has armor, the attack titan is all offense, etc
if a shifter eats another shifter, they gain an extra ability. i’m not sure how a person actually becomes a shifter, but it has to do with an injection and eating the shifter either way
