[ he lets her, if only shifting to accommodate a little— family spats like these are certainly more than upsetting. but, the fact that she’s here and not still there with them proves one thing: she’s got more heart than many already. they take that for granted. like it’s wrong. clicking his tongue, he shakes his head as he thinks of it. ]
They’re all the same. [ a caged bird is going to want to raise a caged bird. honestly, eren’s the most thankful for his mother. ] You didn’t back down a single time, did you?
I thought that we could compromise, but it has become clear to me that they have no respect for me or anything that I want. I question how much they even care about me at all. Not even Mom has called me. They would rather not have a daughter than a daughter like me, I suppose.
[And becomes silent for a few moments, chewing her bottom lip.]
I wish that they could be proud of me, but I suppose I'm not even terribly successful at music. I wish they would respect me and my choices.

My dad said he’d stop paying for everything if I joined the Air Force. I said “go ahead”. [ it was funny how much these situations happen— and ironically, he was on the military spectrum. their parents are probably pulling their hairs out at the irony. ] Because I learned how to manage before that.
[ it’s why he lives on his own, has his own apartment, his own pretty expensive car— he was still lucky enough to have been taught how to save, how to invest, how to do pretty simple things that can get you started. a successful doctor would want success for his son, and with that in mind, showed the ropes. he just didn’t expect eren to take what he learned and go a completely different way. jokes on you, dad. ]
I’m not gonna force you to stay with me, [ he holds five fingers up. ] but if you do, I’ll give you five nights to learn what I know and use it. [ that’s the whole package, from working and earning money, to making it multiply, to finding her own place. ] You’ll have your own place by the end of this week, without a single cent from me.
[ and he’s not just saying that— he knows she can do it if she accepts. ]
