Haha, nah. She's just smart like Titan. Through this really overgrown path that had a lot of monsters. I dunno what was worse, the monsters or all the running to keep up with her.
[Literally only Elliot would put running up on the same level of badness as monsters]
about the corruption, we got some info. he told us that the region was being tainted by something dark and really powerful. heās been trying to protect the village in magatus for ages since it showed up but the energy possesses him to do the opposite. i think itās still possessing him now but he fights with it constantly. he asked for our help to stop it before it spreads.
back in august, i read notes on what some of the groups were up against when that storm happened. danteās group was possessed and were forced to fight each other. if itās the same thing that started after that storm, itās spreading.
Oh no...That's not good. I was really hoping I was wrong about that.
But it does line up with what I've seen. Every monster I've used my spell on has been corrupted by dark energy. It's beautiful here, but there's something off about this forest.
just that when it showed up, it went straight for him and took over. the village has been afraid of the wolves ever since. he wanted to kill people to kill them, horribly, and showed no remorse at all when he told us. for someone who swore to protect them, heās way too shrouded. itās that bad.
whatever light heās holding onto is just enough to bring us to this lodge and work with us. thereās a storm coming and all the lights from the sky are gone. are you guys getting anything like that?
He sounds sad, but really dangerous. Please be careful Eren. I don't like the sound of this at all.
As for the forest...I'm not sure if it's that bad yet. But there are some worrying signs.
Here, we compiled notes together last week. I'll send you them.
[He takes a moment to dig up Minato's notes that got transcribed, and sends them.]
Dryads: The dryads have lived in the forest for a long time (at least 50 years), and some even used to be human. According to the fairies that live in the forest, the dryads are generally friendly, but the fairies are a little jealous of them. Usually, one favor usually leads to another, and angering the dryads may be dangerous. They note that direct sunlight will damage them, preventing them from traveling all the time. They are intent on finding somebody they revere, called the "Huntsman," who has gone into hiding.
Forest: The forest itself has high magical energy that makes it bright and colorful, with ley lines running through the forest which enhance the magic. These ley lines started becoming poisoned and distorted around 50 years ago, leading to the trees and animals turning evil. In the forest, there are berries that increase one's strength and grants immunity to toxins, which Fawkes will be cultivating more of.
North: Going north, there is a grove of berries, flowers, and saplings where a small group of lost dryad children were found and returned to their parents after a giant turtle blocking the path was moved. The dryad children are new converts to Yatoism. Further along the main path north, it leads to a ring of glowing, iridescent trees, surrounded by giant mushrooms and calming flowers. Now that the bears have been moved, this looks like a good place for the dryads to make their home.
East: There are fire breathing lizards near the river, which wouldn't be safe for the dryads.
South: This path leads to a swamp inhabited by bugs, fish, and poisonous frogs that drain the life out of nearby trees. The mother has been dealt with, but frog eggs are noted to be able to be scrambled to make anti-venom and healing salves.
West: Paths here have been cleared of debris (felled trees, some boulders, a giant 10 foot tall ant hill that was washed away), along with a vine monster that had been corrupted by the sinister energy, revealing the cottages where humans used to live. These humans used to take care of the forest and the creatures in it, and seem to have arrived around 20 years ago judging by the items left abandoned inside the cottages. The humans disappeared suddenly without a trade, which the dryads are concerned about. Claw marks were found on some of the doors, and the wood of other buildings have been corroded. Some of the cottages have been destroyed by an ogre, which is currently tied up but is not dead.
About a day after those notes, we got woken up at about 6am to the sound of panpipes and barking. The dryads were really excited about this huntsman coming back, and insisted we go on some hunt to meet him because apparently he'll have the answers we want. So we followed these leyline paths through dangerous parts of the forest.
And now we're just...waiting for him. He really takes his time.
this is huge. thanks. if my team doesnāt have it already iāll relay it and iāll send you ours once i put it together in a bit this makes me remember, did you hear about the legend of the four regions?
š and iāll take care of myself, i promise. iām not alone in it either.
the people in respatrum were the ones that heard of/tell it, where zack and mr. hughes are. they say that the four regions (pesgare, respatrum, bosuma and magatus) were connected to one another and part of the same land. they existed in harmony until something strange happened one day; a weapon struck the earth with such power that it broke the four regions apart.
a great sea serpent dragged pesgare into the middle of the ocean. a horse galloped away, pulling bosuma along with it. a wolf as dark as night and as vicious as fenrir (the wolf of legend we saw in a book here) destroyed everything in its path and left a trail of icy landscape behind it, taking magatus and shrouding the region in darkness and shadows.
according to the storytellers, the serpent disappeared and the horse was slain. but they say fragments of the staff that broke apart the earth still exist in respatrum, and the wolf still roams the icy lands of magatus.
there were mentions of snake monsters in our group, in the water, and fire horses in the tunnels of respatrum. i already told you about the wolf here. whatās more, the rumor was looked into and itās verified: someone's creating a replica of that staff, using fragments of the original that are still scattered.
Okay, first I have to admit I'm kinda impressed you were able to get something out of the Respatrum group that wasn't complaints about the heat.
Anyway, that sure sounds really worrying. And it proved these place are connected somehow. Though I'm not sure how much of that is true and how much is just huge storytelling.
[...]
Glad you told me this before I met with the huntsman. I think I'll be hiding my staff when I do...just in case.
[Let's not stir up staff-related trauma for these people]
we got it from a girl named rin. she told prompto and he spread it out to us. looks like thereās been a group thatās been solely working on looking into the legends by civilian request. theyāre worried itās true.
maybe itās half and half. i donāt know the details that affirmed the weapon yet, but if they found evidence worthwhile, iāll believe it. the rest can be just part of the story to give it more body.
thing is whoās the one trying to put something like that back together and why these places are off balance.

You try keeping up with the fastest land animal!
Yeah, we're in a clearing now waiting for this Huntsman guy.
There's a lot of Satyrs here, and they're pretty cool?

Aw, she'd come back for us if we fell behind!
And she helped fight off monsters.
[He'll send a picture of a few of these these guys performing with panpipes.]

Right. That's the important part. If a single person is what's causing the corruption in all these places...that's really scary.
Oh, I'm passing the information along to my group. I hope you don't mind.

thatās why you were the first one i thought to relay it to in the first place.
[ but he also senses a disturbance . . . hmrm. nowās a better time as any to smooth some of that out. itād be dreadful to let it drag. ]
