you know, i only figured that was the thing for our partner links, that’s what zee told me
but i didn’t think about the rest
there’s something spirit related to our group..... it reminded me of that train we fought in the tunnels

To be fair, the links were what made me start to think of it.
There was something similar to that too in that world. Though not as invasive, thank goodness.
But hmmm ... I wonder if the train is connected somehow.
Some of the monsters here have been corrupted by some dark energy.
But I only pick up on it with that info spell.
Too bad I can't use it long distance.

I've done it on a few things, but I'll keep doing it.
And I'll definitely tell you what I find.

They were called Combat Links.
It's hard to put into words, but it's like being aware of everything your link partner is doing and what they intend to do too.
Even if you're far apart on a chaotic battlefield.
The other me was being trained to fight while using them, I know that much.

I dunno. The whole past memories thing is still confusing sometimes.
I mean, I really do want to make sure they're all okay but...

these memories are either going to make us really, really strong or completely useless elliot.
even before the titan powers i’ve been afraid
you just get the feeling that things can repeat themselves, that goes for everyone

i remembered picking up my dad’s glasses as a kid in the middle of the woods, alone, in a no titan zone. he’d been half eaten. the conclusion’s pretty obvious.

[ a pause. ]

and that’s just one of them. i’m not the person i thought i was in these memories. maybe i just wanted to be special or whatever, something stupid like that so i waited. like a dumbass, twice. and that just made my first few days here shitty and not just for me.

it’s all up to us. the only person who’s going to affirm that you’re turning into someone you’re not is you. i’m done being trapped like that.
from now on i make my own damn choices because no one else has that sort of power over me but me. if memories are that much stronger than our will than you’re already signing papers. don’t let that happen.
