[ Matt was aware of Chiyo's message about Valentine's gifts getting delivered to those out on missions. That presents a problem if you are hiding your identity. If anyone sees something with his name on it he'll be in trouble. Double the challenge by leaving him to figure out if anything sent was meant for him based on touch and smell. He has his work cut out for him.
So on the day of he wakes up bright and early in anticipation of the arrival of whatever Joanne sends, praying nobody sent him anything so that it's unnecessary for him to pounce on the delivery. Sadly (yay?) that isn't the case. The instant the delivery arrives he regrets not asking Orihime or Eren for help. There's so much more there than he would have guessed and he's bound to draw attention if he starts touching every single present and label to run his fingers over it. [ it’s pretty easy for other apartment dogs on this floor to come running to eren’s door— he’s got a dog in there himself, a rather large dog from the sound of things, and just when eren was going to take him out for a walk, too; titan, his german shepherd, snarls under the door and sticks his snout there as much as he can to huff at the intruder near his home— his home!

There's a conversation between Baren and another person, if you care to have a listen - until there isn't. There's a gunshot that rings out through the air and Baren automatically sits up, running in the direction of the sound, shouting out a name.
A name that certainly isn't that of his darling little sister Sakura Kaiyou - and the woman lying on the ground isn't her either. Yet Baren talks to her desperately and the familial resemblance between the two of them can't be denied.

[ it’s odd, when suddenly the world around you changes— you change, although you don’t really have a clue to where you even are. eren had managed as only an observer, coming across and easily identifying baren, but the rest looked . . . quite feudal. he sticks close, if not letting his eyes wander and listening to the conversation like one would usually listen to music: background noise. he’s more interested in deciphering where and what had been happening.
of course this wasn’t real now, but what was it? his mind playing tricks or reality bending? it’s not until the gunshot rings, and eren jolts and immediately follows after baren halfway through, before he searches for where it could’ve come from.
it’s easy to get sucked into these realities. ]

getting to the closet feels like another room when opened, and while there are plenty of elliot’s clothes there already, well, one might not know where they are if they don’t actually know he has his own drawer and corner on the far left. eren’s clothes are mostly casual, from band and graphic t-shirts to button downs, although, yes, going by elliot’s size, they’re huge. as are the very many jeans, very many belts, and very many boots. accessories, watches, perfume— he’s not vain, but he does like indulging in good things.
the other two doors either lead to an equally massive bathroom or an equally massive living space. door two also comes with two big dogs that might be quick to inquiry, be careful.

[ the battle is over. the fortress is gone, the cries of chained wyverns still like the wind— they did it. they saved the town from destruction, and all should be cheering.
coming across this weary man was alarming. eren’s clothes are stained with blood that is not his. the shifter lines scarring down his face are creased and damp with tears that have made his eyes puffy and sore. he feels a little numb, as if he’s floating, unaware of what had just happened moments earlier.
he looks back at the disaster scenery before him, the destruction left by armaros now an eerie silence. staggering backwards into a splintered bench, eren’s breathing begins to escalate the more his blue eyes search. they look at his hands, his clothes, around him. they sting horridly again, until all he can see through them was blurry landscape, until his throat burned up to the air he inhaled in rapid breaths.
until his chest hurt.
eren jaeger cries with no suppression. raw emotion pours from him as he sobs, as his voice cracks and whines after each gasping breath he tries to take. clover jaeger was dead, his sister was gone, he couldn’t hope for her to be back tomorrow when that’s not how death always works, not when there was little to trust in the twisted reality they lived.
he was not there when he should’ve been. he offered help, he gave encouragement, and it led clover to an end he hadn’t foreseen. he believed in her, trusted her— and yet again, a lesson he should have learned plenty of lives ago— his faith had played a part in killing her.
there were few here that eren truly loved, and it’s today that a part of him had died with one. his mournful cries ring through the air, an occasional mix of desperate laughter chimes with the frantic jabs he makes against wood and clobbered cement, until his weeps single out into just weeps.
he thought, he hoped, for maybe a few seconds each day, that he was in a reality where he’d never feel this again. and here he was, in a cycle where history constantly repeated itself to him, as if fated to falter and lose those dear, because of him.
